All year round Hamburg is a wonderful city, but on New Year's Eve it goes mentally mad! The district of St. Pauli with all it's bars and clubs is compeletely packed, the quatre around the Reeperbahn is definite "must go" area. Bars are a popular location to party and celebrate, but the streets are a more than suffice alternative. The city districts vary in atmosphere: the uptown Altona celebrates in a quieter and more mature way than other districts. The Schanzenviertel really keeps the vibe going with ganja smoke and alternative music for the younger audience. And I can tell you: the Elbe Fireworks sure do rule! It comes down to this: Anybody can have a good time on New Year's Eve in Germany most beloved Hanse Stadt.
